Welcome to NeuronTalk. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Governing Jurisdiction
Our application servers are located in the Republic of Singapore, and our database is hosted on cloud infrastructure in Tokyo, Japan. Our data practices are governed by the laws of Singapore. We will only respond to data requests that are issued under a valid legal process from a court of competent jurisdiction in Singapore.
2. Information We Collect
We have a simple principle: we only collect the data that is necessary to provide you with our services.
- Account Information: When you register, we collect a username, a nickname, and a password. Your account also has a recovery key. Your password and recovery key are hashed using the bcrypt algorithm and are never stored in plain text. We cannot view, access, or recover your original password.
- Synapse Data: Your private and group messages in our "Synapse" chat application are stored on our servers in encrypted form. This is required to provide you with a persistent, multi-device chat history. We also store group invite codes, the number of reports filed against groups or messages, and which accounts have been blocked by other users.
- Message Capsule Data: The subject and body of your emails are stored in encrypted form. We also record the sender's and recipient's email addresses; either of them may be an external address. Emails exchanged with external addresses are relayed through a third-party email delivery service and pass through its systems in transit.
- Pulse Plaza Data: Posts you publish are public. We also record interactions such as likes.
- Device and Activity Information: When you log in, we record only your general device environment, namely the operating system and browser (for example, Chrome on macOS), and not your device model. We also record the time of activities such as sending messages, posting, and sending email.
- Connection Data: We may temporarily log standard connection information, such as your IP address, to protect our service against spam, abuse, and other malicious activities. This data is used for security and operational purposes only.
We do not collect your phone number, an external email address for registration, or your legal identity.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively to operate, maintain, and secure the NeuronTalk service.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
- We do not share your personal data with other third parties, except as required to comply with a valid legal order from the courts of Singapore.
4. Data Security & Our Commitment to End-to-End Encryption
We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard measures to protect it.
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is protected using strong TLS (HTTPS/WSS) encryption.
- A Transparent Note on End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): We believe that ultimate privacy is achieved when no one but you can read your messages. Therefore, it is important for you to know that our "Synapse" and "Message Capsule" services do not currently offer E2EE. This means that the content of your messages and emails is technically accessible by authorized server administrators.
- Our Goal: Achieving full end-to-end encryption is a top priority on our development roadmap. Once implemented, it will make it technically impossible for us to access the content of your communications, providing the highest level of privacy.
5. Transparency Report
We believe in accountability. We pledge to publish a periodic Transparency Report detailing the types and number of government data requests we receive and how we have responded to them, to the extent permitted by law.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We store your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time, and we will proceed with the permanent deletion of your associated personal data from our production servers in a timely manner.

- 帳戶資訊： 當您註冊時，我們會收集使用者名稱、暱稱及密碼，您的帳戶亦設有恢復金鑰。您的密碼與恢復金鑰會使用 bcrypt 演算法進行雜湊處理，絕不會以純文字形式儲存。我們無法查看、存取或恢復您的原始密碼。
- 突觸 (Synapse) 資料： 您在我們的「突觸」聊天應用程式中的私訊與群組訊息，會以加密形式儲存在我們的伺服器上。這是為您提供持續的、可跨裝置同步的聊天歷史所必需的。我們亦會儲存群組邀請碼、群組或訊息被檢舉的次數，以及帳戶被其他使用者封鎖的情況。
- 訊息膠囊 (Message Capsule) 資料： 您的電郵主旨與正文會以加密形式儲存。我們亦會記錄寄件人與收件人的電郵地址，其中一方可能是外部電郵地址。與外部電郵地址往來的電郵，會經由第三方電郵遞送服務轉發，並於傳送過程中經過該服務的系統。
- 脈衝廣場 (Pulse Plaza) 資料： 您發布的貼文為公開內容。我們亦會記錄按讚等互動。
- 裝置與活動資訊： 登入時，我們僅記錄概略的裝置環境，即作業系統與瀏覽器（例如 Chrome on macOS），而不記錄裝置型號。我們亦會記錄您傳送訊息、發布貼文、寄送電郵等活動的時間。
- 連線資料： 我們可能會暫時記錄標準的連線資訊，例如您的 IP 位址，以保護我們的服務免受垃圾訊息、濫用及其他惡意活動的侵害。此類資料僅用於安全及維運目的。
我們不會收集您的手機號碼、用於註冊的外部電郵地址或您的法律真實身份。
3. 我們如何使用您的資訊
您的資訊僅被專門用於營運、維護及保護神經鏈接服務。
- 我們不出售您的資料。
- 我們不將您的資料用於廣告目的。
- 我們不與其他第三方分享您的個人資料，除非是為了遵守來自新加坡法院的有效法律命令。

我們嚴肅對待您的資料安全，並採用行業標準措施加以保護。
- 傳輸加密： 所有在您的裝置與我們伺服器之間傳輸的資料，均受到強大的 TLS (HTTPS/WSS) 加密保護。
- 關於端對端加密 (E2EE) 的透明度說明： 我們相信，唯有當除了您自己以外無人能讀取您的訊息時，才能實現終極的隱私。因此，請您務必知悉，我們的「突觸」及「訊息膠囊」服務目前尚未提供 E2EE。這意味著，您的訊息與電郵內容在技術上，對於獲授權的伺服器管理員是可存取的。
- 我們的目標： 實現全面的端對端加密，是我們開發路線圖中的最高優先級。一旦實施，它將使我們在技術上無法存取您通訊的內容，從而提供最高等級的隱私保護。
5. 透明度報告
我們信奉問責制。我們承諾，將在法律允許的範圍內，定期發布透明度報告，詳細說明我們收到的政府資料請求的類型、數量以及我們的回應方式。
6. 資料保留與刪除
只要您的帳戶仍處於活躍狀態，我們就會持續儲存您的資料。您可以隨時刪除您的帳戶，我們將會及時從我們的生產伺服器中永久刪除您的相關個人資料。
